I'm probably reaching for two very different demographs here. XD I hope the jokes aren't lost to everyone.
Anyway, it occurred to me a bit ago that, when you start up Animal Crossing and Rover appears to talk with you, his entrance kinda reminded me of Half Life's G-man. Just... floating there, in a black void, placing you in the game world. So one thing lead to another... and yeah, here we are.
Of course I wanted to keep the cutesy AC style for the wonderful juxtaposition with Half-Life 2's grim settings, and for all its simplicity, the AC style was a little hard to get a handle of... while also being incredibly easy. Does that make any sense? I just kinda went with it... some of it feels a little lazy, but it was a silly idea I just wanted to get out of my system. The fence and the AC-styled ground were probably the most time-consuming if anything.
Rover, Tom Nook, Resetti, Ruby and general AC concepts belong to Nintendo.
The likeness of the G-man, Dr. Breen, Combine and general Half Life concepts belong to Valve.
Oh... my...gosh... This, this is GLORIOUS!!! Oh I laughed so hard I love Nook, Ruby, and Resetti, And seeing them incarnated as their Half Life counterparts is just hilarious!

Mr. Combine: HEY NO RESETTIN'! *bitchslaps him with stun baton*
Also, Rover as the G-man, I should have known.
"The right person in the wrong place can make all of the difference. So wake up Mr. Vlad, wake up and...smell the ashes."
