The stark white background conveys a mood of complacency, which works better than a blue sky, which would make this picture a bit more dreary and down. While the white sky helps the mood, it does make the background a little bland, but that works here because the focus is on the figure in the foreground. The colour scheme works well here with the slight smile on your subject's face. The blue jeans/grey shirt tells us that your subject is carefree and possibly even happy. The flowers work well against the grass, and also enhance the positive mood of the piece.

So like, the other day, I was out walking and stuff, and then, like, this dude came up to me, and was, like, dude, you gotta check this out, and I was like, no way, but his babe girlfriend chick was like, seriously, check it out, it's awesome, so I did.

When you showed me the pencil sketch, didn't I tell you the result would be awesome? Didn't I? And who was right? Hmmmm?

I love the soft, muted background. The over-all color scheme is somehow both melancholy but lovely - I suppose like the feeling one could have on a rainy day . . . if that makes any sense whatsoever.

And the title itself, while I'm not sure how it meshes with the image, is fantastic. +fav for it if nothing else. (which, of course, isn't the case)
